Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the Ailsa and Professor Ross Hawker Scholarship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Domestic student
- Registering as a first-year student in any bachelor’s degree at UQ in the first semester of the scholarship year
- Not having completed any previous undergraduate or graduate-level coursework
- Demonstrating significant financial hardship, as determined by earning the highest number of points possible in the QTAC’s Educational Access Scheme "Financial Hardship" category
- Received the UQ Link Scholarship
- Not having been the recipient of any previous scholarships from UQ granted due to financial hardship, other than a UQ Link Scholarship
Selection Criteria:
Preference will be given to applicants based on the following criteria:
1. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander status
2. Hailing from distant, rural, or regional areas
3. First-generation college students
4. Applicants for QTAC who have included evidence of additional types of educational disadvantage in their application

- Personal statement
